Dress Code

In the interest of the Traditions of the Club, members and guests are politely reminded of the Dress Code

On The Course

All golfers must wear recognised golf attire on the course, to only include the following

Men

  • Shirts must be collared and tucked into trousers/shorts at all times. Polo neck shirts/jumpers are acceptable.
  • Shorts must be tailored and smart, with no “patch” pockets on the sides. Shorts must not be below knee length.
  • Socks must always be worn on the golf course. When wearing shorts, predominantly white socks of any length are acceptable in addition to knee-length plain socks of a single colour.
  • Trousers must be long and must not be of a Denim material. Cargo or Patch pockets are NOT acceptable.

Ladies

  • Shirt or blouse with collar. Mandarin-style collars are acceptable. Golf shirts that are designed to be worn outside of shorts/trousers are acceptable. Shorts must be tailored and smart, with no “patch” pockets on the sides. ¾ length trousers are also acceptable for ladies.
  • Socks must always be worn on the golf course. When wearing shorts, predominantly white socks of any length are acceptable in addition to knee-length plain socks of a single colour.
  • Shoes must be of a recognised conventional golf shoe design. The club operate a soft spike golf shoe only policy.

Golf Head Gear must be worn in the correct manner, with the peak at the front.

In the Clubhouse

The club have adopted a smart-casual dress code, however the following items of clothing are not acceptable in the clubhouse

  • Distressed clothing (for example , any item of clothing with rips/tears/paint marks etc) and worn below the hip
  • T-shirts with large motifs or prints
  • Sports team shirts, shorts, tracksuits, gym wear including hoodies.
  • Trainers specifically designed for a sport (i.e. running/football/gym or any specific sport shoe)
  • Rubber/plastic beach flip-flops or sandals
  • Beachwear and Vests
  • Combat clothing (inc cargo shorts)
  • Work wear and work-boots, bare or stocking feet
  • Hats/Headgear, unless for religious reasons
  • Golf Waterproofs in the upstairs lounge
  • No golf shoes of any description allowed upstairs including the balcony

 The following exeptions apply to the Spike Bar and Downstairs Areas only

* Acceptable – Golf Shoes, Dry & Clean Waterproof Outerwear (Any wet or dirty outerwear must be removed)


To avoid embarrassment on all sides the Professional Staff, Secretary, House Manager and Committee Members will administer the rules. The club reserves the right to refuse admission to the Course or Clubhouse if individuals are not able to comply with our dress code, normal courtesies or the rules of golf.
