As Captain of Coxmoor Golf Club, I would like to welcome you to our wonderful Club. Whether playing for pleasure, in a competition or as part of a Society or Charity outing, I hope you find our heathland course a challenging test of golf and experience the warm hospitality and friendliness of our staff, in our comfortable clubhouse.
Our course was founded in 1913, giving golfers a challenging test of golf in a unique natural setting, surrounded by the vast expanse of Sherwood Forest. Time has seen the course mature into one of the finest courses in Nottinghamshire and the UK recognised by the hosting of many regional national and international events.
The club boasts three former Walker Cup players and two touring professionals;
Oliver Wilson represented Europe in the 2008 Ryder Cup and is currently in the top 50 of world ranked golfers. He continues to be one of the best golfers in Europe often returning to the club, where he remains an honorary member. We also wish him luck in his first appearance at the US Masters in April 2009.
Greg Owen is a full time member of the USPGA Tour and previous winner of the European Tours British Masters. Greg also retains his attachment to Coxmoor and on his return to the UK often visits his home club.
The Club is steeped in a fascinating history which you are able to enjoy by clicking the link below. From our first President the Duke of Portland to a World War 2 aircraft crashing on the course it is an excellent biography of how Coxmoor has been shaped as we approach our centenary.
