The Club held its Annual Junior Presentation Night on the 13th of November
Just short of 60 attendees enjoyed an evening of awards celebrating the many & varied junior successes in 2015. An excellent hot buffet preceded the presentation and we saw many happy faces, juniors and adults alike, taking part in a great evening at the club.
- Junior Captain Lewis Burton Williams and Junior Vice Captain Josh Quibell presented vouchers for the 16 medal competitions played this year
- Vice-Captain Sean Musson and Lady Captain Irene Goddard presented the trophies to the 3 “Major” winners plus the LG White Putter winner
- Head Professional Craig Wight presented the inaugural Junior of the year award
The first junior “major” of the year (The Kaye shield) was held on the 14th of April and was won by James Abbot, 2nd place went to Sam Greasley and 3rd place to Joseph Brown.
Joseph Brown was selected to represent the Notts U14 county boys team making his debut against Shropshire and Herefordshire at Beeston on the 29th of April.
All junior matches for the season have now been confirmed. Heidi Sweeney has done a great job in coordinating arrangements for these fixtures and deserves a special mention for her efforts. The next match is against Chilwell on Wednesday the 29th of May at 12pm at Coxmoor.
Friday night coaching has now started for both the younger and older group sessions – Matt and Sam are managing the sessions. Turnout has been satisfactory with approximately 10 per group. As we build momentum over the next few weeks we anticipate attendance will increase.
Congratulations to Rhiannon Linacre on gaining county first team colours having represented the county ladies team on at least 3 occasions.
Success for Rhiannon continued with a victory in the Notts girls county championship held at Coxmoor on Sunday the 19th of May. Emily Mae-Hall finished 2nd to Rhiannon and Rebecca Williams won the Bronze division.
