Hunstanton Foursomes Title Defended

Huge Congratulations to Jason Middleton and Fraser Darrington on defending their Hunstanton Foursomes title.

The event is a very long standing and high profile golf tournament. To win it once is a great achievement so to defend it is quite remarkable.

Well done Guys, Coxmoor is very proud.

Junior 4 Counties Tournament

This week has seen the prestigious 4 Counties Tournament at Formby Golf Club where Theo Nelson and Louis Cooke were representing Nottinghamshire Juniors.

This is a great achievement for Coxmoor Golf Club and it’s Junior Section. Both are pictured here with Colin Bee, County President.

SEB CAVE

I am pleased to report Coxmoor Scratch team member Seb Cave has won his first 2 events in America, Seb recently started his college life at the University of Alabama, he won the GMAC Invitational event with scores of 68 66 and 72 = 10 under and also the Carolina Cup with scores of 75 70 and 67 = 4 under.

What a great start to his college career.

Well done Seb and keep up the good work.

Seb Qualifies at Open Regional Qualifiers

Congratulations go out to our own SEB CAVE on qualifying at the open regional qualifiers he now moves on to the Final Qualifier, a great achievement in is first season as a amateur on tour . Well done Seb!

 

Killian Triumphs Again

We are pleased to report that Coxmoor member Killian Ryan won the Notts Matchplay championship at Wollaton Park on Sunday, this goes along with the Notts Strokeplay Championship he won back in May.
This is fantastic news and well done to Killian on his success, also having a stellar season in America achieving many fine results.

Ryan Triumphs at Wollaton Park

Killian Ryan wins the prestigious Notts Amateur Championship at Wollaton Park last Saturday, Killian shot rounds of 69 + 68 = 137 to win by 2 shots from Jack Sallis (Hollinwell).

Killian also finished runner up in the Notts Open Championship, played in conjunction with the amatuer, only losing out to professional Andy Willey, (Oakmere Park), who shot a brace of 67’s to win by 3.

Congratulations to Killian on his great success and to the Ryan family who have a long and great tradition at the club.

Betteridge Triumphs in his 1st Major Senior event.

Coxmoor’s Mark Betteridge won the prestigious Midland Golf Senior Spring Championship at Coxmoor Golf Club, Mark shot an impressive score of 73 gross (level par) and a very breezy and difficult day, playing on his home course Mark went out in 1 over par, before playing the back 9 in I under, Mark recently turned 55 and this was his first major senior event, he already had a impressive record in the men’s game having won the county championship on two occasions and the match play championship, plus many other 36 hole scratch events.

Congratulations to Mark and to evergreen veteran Charles Banks (Stanton on the Wolds) who also shot level par 73, only losing out on the back 9 to Betteridge, continuing the great day for Notts players Sherwood Forest’s Chris Powell came 4th with a 74 gross.

 

This is a very impressive start for the Nottinghamshire players and bodes well for the season, with Mark recently joining the ranks, and other notables the future looks great for the seniors.

Killian Ryan earns a spot in US Regional Championship

Seb Cave Success

Coxmoor’s own, Seb Cave, continues his meteoric rise through the Amateur game, currently a member of England’s Men’s squad, he was successful in triumphing in the Faldo Elite Tour at Heswall Golf Course, Seb shot a very impressive 5 under par 67, to win. The field included 10 other internationals.

Seb represents the club in our Scratch team and is well worth watching, along with our other talented squad members.
