Welcome to Coxmoor Golf Club

Coxmoor Golf Club

This brief introduction is to welcome both member and visitor to the Coxmoor Golf Club Website.  We hope that you will find it of use with the various headings directing you to the area of your interest.

The website is still under development and if you consider there is an aspect that could be developed further or an additional element introduced then please contact the Club Secretary or his Assistant with details.  There is a Member's Area that can be accessed by Coxmoor Members exclusively.  Once the content for this area has been completed then details of how to access this information will be made known.

The Diary pages are updated regularly and contain information of events on the Course and in the Clubhouse.

The course is heathland and was established in 1913.  The Regional Qualifier for the Open was held at Coxmoor in 1992 and 1993 and again from 1996 to 2001 and we are hopeful that it will return in the near future.  In August 2008 the Club hosted the Reid Trophy, the under-14 Boy's International.  The Club was proud to host this tournament, which is recognition of the quality the Course can offer.

Our Professional, Craig Wright, together with his Assistant Matt Whall have their details on 'The Professional' pages.  These pages will give you information direct from the Pro's Shop relating to coaching and any special offers that are a vailable.

Coxmoor Golf Club is proud to be the home club of PGA Professionals Greg Owen (currently playing on the USPGA Tour) and Oliver Wilson (playing on the European Tour).  Both Greg and Oliver are Honorary Members of Coxmoor and remain pleased to be referred to as 'Playing out of Coxmoor Golf Club'.

The Club has an excellent team to support the membership, from the Green staff; the Bar & Catering staff plus the Administration and Maintenance/Security staffs.  We hope that everyone who uses the Club finds it a welcoming and friendly place but particularly that they enjoy their golf.

Welcome to the New Web Site

This is the new site for the Club and replaces the previous web site that was created using the services of Ashfield District Council's Internet system ASHTEL that is now defunct.  We have decided to try and make this site more interesting giving up to date information regarding current events including on course information and Social events.  To most members using the site the Diary is likely to be the popular element where tee availability can be identified and also 'what's on' in the coming days.

The site will also be used as an historical (photographic) record with details of Past Captains; Club Trophies; Ladies & Junior Trophies and the trophy winners throughout the year.  Membership information is shown in order for members to advise their friends or indeed point them to the web site.  Visitors and society groups can gather the information they need from the site should they be considering a round or two at Coxmoor.

The majority of the photography has been provided by Kevin Atherton and it is hoped to improve our course display as we progress with the site.  There is still much to be done which, over coming weeks and months, we hope to finalise for your benefit.

The Restricted Member's Area will be available soon and details of Club Rules; Course Policy together with Minutes of Meetings will be available for members to read at home.

This News Site will replace the Cockerel Newsletter and for those without access to a computer copies will be printed and displayed on the appropriate clubhouse board(s).

If you feel you can contribute with items of interest then let me know and also if you feel there is scope for expansion in certain areas that would be of interest to all members I would be pleased to discuss your ideas.
